eGon- this year’s race car of WHZ Racing Team, is the result of half a year of development of 60 dedicated students. The first targets, for example, further development of the electronical four-wheel drive as well as the improvement of the package were implemented consistently.
By minimizing of the installation space and the dead volume in the vehicle of17 %, the yaw indolence is reduced and the center of gravity is lowered. The chassis is based on a rigid and elastic- kinematics simulation. All dynamically claimed parts, including the full carbon rims with carbon fiber insert were FEM calculated and stiffness optimized.
All battery cells are located under the driver’s seat in a battery pack, whose floor plate is also part of the frame structure. The vehicle frame itself was structurally optimized and all the drive train components are modular to assemble them separate from each other.
Electrically or electronically weaknesses in the FP410e are eliminated, such as the unequal discharge of the batteries. Functioning systems of the previous car could be used partly, including the dashboard and the central electronics unit. Converter container and battery pack were package optimized.
The WHZ Racing Team has done a great job with the vehicle FP511e, which has the innovations and the technical implementations to reach great success. Look forward to an electric race car, which has the potential to be the best in one’s field!
