The team Electrics/ Electronics mainly consists of students studying car electronics, information technology, electrical engineering as well as micro technology. They are responsible for the electronics of our race car, these includes the batteries and the battery management, industrial process and control as well as the car wire harness.
An important task is the development and construction of a reliable and compliant on board power supply. Each year our innovative Central Electrical System (CES) is used in a more advanced form.
For optimal performance, efficiency and coordination of the engines we work with a self-developed Vehicle Drive and Dynamic Control Unit (VDDC). For an optimal application, we are in a close contact with the team Power train. We work for and on the dynamic engine test bed in collaboration with the team Power train.
An integrated driver information display in the car as well as an online telemetry-system is being used to provide the driver and box crew with important information about the condition of the vehicle.
We use an extensive measuring and evaluation system for optimal vehicle coordination. It includes, for example, self-developed yaw rates and acceleration, tire pressure and temperature sensors and a number of other important sensors in the steering and suspension technology.
